What a Showroom Visit Taught Me About Furniture Design
As someone still new to the world of office furniture, getting to visit the Narbutas showroom in Clerkenwell was a very informative learning experience. I have read and written so much about ergonomics, quality and design, that actually experiencing it in real life helped me understand it so much better.

Narbutas is a Lithuanian furniture manufacturer and their new showroom has added to their exponential growth, due to their balance between quality and affordability.
We held our weekly Think Furniture team meeting in one of their collaboration areas in the showroom, and right away I could see the difference that the furniture made. The team were all comfortable (all thanks to Narbutas Sandie chairs) and laser focused discussing the to-dos of the day and strategies for the week.

After the meeting, we explored the showroom. The space itself was thoughtfully curated, filled with natural light, soft tones, and a lot of plants, making the place relaxed and peaceful.
While touring, one setup in particular caught my eye. On the upper level of the showroom, the Cannie high-rise chairs were set up with the NovaWood Multipurpose desk. It looked so peaceful and an amazing place to have a meeting or work. The foliage around it made it feel more secluded and a space where one can focus. As someone who moves around a lot while working, I would have loved it in my student accommodation’s study or common area.

A big thank you to Philip Lewis, who hosted us and made this whole experience smoother. His enthusiasm made the visit even more enjoyable.
This visit helped me appreciate well-designed office furniture and realise how it is such a vital part in making our workplaces comfortable and focused. One takeaway? Good furniture doesn’t just fill a room—it defines how people interact with it.
