Vitra Eames Plastic Side Chair DSX by Charles and Ray Eames, 1950

The Eames Plastic Side Chair DSX was designed by Charles and Ray Eames as part of their ' Low Cost Furniture Design' collection. This was in response to a competition run by the Museum of Modern Art in 1950.

As part of the Eames Plastic Chair group the DSX, along with its brothers and sisters, has become an instantly recognizable design classic that is equally at home in office, leisure or residential settings.

Vitra DSX chair is available in a range of coloured finishes and has options for plastic shell only, seat upholstered or complete upholstery. DSX can be made to feel lighter, less conspicuous by single colour or can become more striking by clever use of contrasting shell and fabric upholstery.
